Oatmeal with Egg Whites
This is a great breakfast idea! I learned about this recipe through one of my friends. She told me she eats this almost every day. I thought it sounded different but good and wanted to try it out. You use plain oats and make them according to the package. For 1 serving you need 4 egg whites. After you add the oats to boiling water, just stir and add in the egg whites until they are cooked. You'll see them firm up. You can add in anything you want really. Some things I've tried are dried cranberries, coconut flakes, and dates. In the picture below I used chopped dates and ground flax seed (to benefit from the omega fatty acids in flax seed it has to be ground. I grind mine in a coffee grinder as I need them, so they stay fresh.) Add in a little milk if you prefer a creamier texture.
